About Us
Massage Sense has only one location, which is conveniently situated in the beautiful Zeeheldenkwartier neighborhood, near the City Center of Den Haag.
You can find us at Zoutmanstraat 26B, Den Haag.

There are several options to reach Massage Sense and find parking nearby.
- Bike: Biking is the most convenient way to reach our location. You can easily park your bike near our entry door.
- Car: If you are coming by car, please note that parking in our area requires payment. Due to ongoing renovation for the tram tracks, parking on our street may not be available.
- However, you can park at Albert Heijn XL, which is just a 3-minute walk from us at Elandstraat 160. The parking at Albert Heijn XL offers free parking for the first 2 hours.
- Public Transportation: To plan your trip using public transportation, we recommend visiting the HTM website or using Google Maps.
- Please be aware that tram lines may be subject to change due to the tram track renovation.
– Opening Days: We are open every day of the week, including public holidays.
– Closed Days: December 24th and 25th, as well as December 31st and January 1st.
– Monday to Saturday: from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM. (The last appointment can be booked for 7:00 PM.)
– Sunday: from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM. The last appointment available is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
Please keep in mind:
Our therapists work on an appointment-only basis. This means that we may not have therapists readily available at the practice without a scheduled appointment.
Therefore, we highly recommend booking your appointment in advance through our online booking system.
Please note that our door is always closed, so if you visit without a prior appointment, there may not be anyone available to open the door for you.

At Massage Sense, our therapists have a selection of their preferred oils and brands to enhance your massage experience. We prioritize the use of natural oils with minimal or no fragrance. Here are some of the oils you may come across during your massage session:
Almond Oil: Almond oil is a popular choice due to its moisturizing and nourishing properties. It is light and absorbs easily into the skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.
Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is known for its hydrating and rejuvenating effects. It has a pleasant tropical aroma and can leave your skin feeling refreshed.

Please note that while some therapists may blend the oils with essential oils, this is not a standard practice and may vary based on individual therapist preferences. The option to incorporate essential oils into your massage may be offered as a courtesy but is not guaranteed.
It’s important to understand that a dedicated massage with essential oils is our Aromatherapy Massage, which is a separate service with its own pricing structure.

At Massage Sense, we do not work directly with any health insurance companies. When you come to an appointment with us, payment is required at the time of the appointment. However, depending on your personal insurance and individual policy, you may be able to claim reimbursement by providing our invoice.
To ensure a smooth reimbursement process, we recommend following these steps:
1. Check your insurance policy: Before your appointment, we advise you to review your insurance policy requirements. This will help you understand the specific coverage and reimbursement options available to you.
2. Pay for your appointment: At Massage Sense, payment is required at the time of the appointment. Please be prepared to pay for your session directly to us.
3. Obtain an invoice: After your appointment, we will provide you with an invoice detailing the services rendered and the amount paid. This invoice will be necessary for submitting a reimbursement claim to your insurance provider.
4. Submit your claim: Contact your insurance provider and follow their instructions for submitting a reimbursement claim. You will typically need to provide them with the invoice we provided and any additional documentation required by your policy.
5. Reimbursement process: The reimbursement process varies depending on your insurance company and policy. It is important to follow up with your insurance provider to track the progress of your claim and understand their reimbursement timeline.
Please note:
– None of our therapists are part of any association. If association membership is a requirement for insurance coverage, unfortunately, we do not fulfill that requirement. However, you may still be eligible for reimbursement based on your policy terms.
– The responsibility for seeking reimbursement lies with you as the client. We are unable to directly process insurance claims or guarantee reimbursement. Therefore, it is essential to check your insurance policy requirements beforehand to ensure you meet the necessary criteria for reimbursement.

At Massage Sense, we prioritize the health and safety of our clients by implementing hygienic and cleaning procedures.
Clean Environment: We maintain a clean and sanitized environment throughout our practice, including massage rooms, reception areas, and common areas.
Linen and Towels: We use fresh and clean linens and towels for every client. These items are laundered using high-temperature settings to ensure cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination.
Hand Hygiene: Our therapists follow hand hygiene practices, including washing hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after each session.
Adequate Ventilation: While some of our massage rooms are completely closed, we have implemented measures to ensure proper air circulation. We understand that during the winter season, it can be challenging to open doors and windows. Therefore, we have installed air conditioning systems that help regulate and maintain a comfortable and fresh atmosphere within our practice.
Time Between Sessions: To further enhance air quality, we have intentionally scheduled enough time between massage sessions. This allows for proper air exchange and ensures a clean environment for each client.
Indoor Shoes Policy: To maintain cleanliness, our staff wears indoor shoes dedicated to the practice area only. We kindly request our clients to remove their shoes upon arrival to help keep the practice environment clean.
BOOKINGS
To book an appointment at Massage Sense, follow these steps:
- Choose the Massage, Special Combo Deal, or Workshop you would like to book and click on it.
- Select between Fixed and Flexible options and choose the desired length. Please note that Workshops and Special Combo Deals are only available as Fixed.
- On the calendar, you will see all the available time slots for the specific appointment. You can either leave it as “All available time slots” for a wider range of options or click to select a specific therapist. For Couples massages, you can only choose one therapist, and the other will be assigned automatically based on availability.
- After selecting the day, time, and therapist, you will be asked to provide your personal details and accept the terms and conditions. It is important to ensure that your email address is the same in both fields to receive the confirmation email.
- Click “Continue” and you will have the option to accept the terms and conditions again.
- Proceed with the booking process until it is completed. You will receive an email containing your booking confirmation, appointment details, and invoice if a payment was made.
Massage Sense offers two types of appointments, Fixed and Flexible, each with its own characteristics and cancellation policies.
Please note that Workshops/Massage Classes or Special Combo Deals are always Fixed.
1- Fixed Appointment (Value deal):
– No option to reschedule the appointment.
– No discount options available.
– If you cancel or miss your scheduled appointment, no refunds will be provided, regardless of a minimum 24-hour cancellation notice.
– You have the option to send someone else on your behalf if you are unable to make it to your appointment.
– In case Massage Sense needs to cancel your reservation, you can either rebook with another therapist (subject to availability) or receive a full refund.
2- Flexible Appointment:
With a flexible appointment, you have the flexibility to:
– Reschedule or cancel your appointment free of charge, provided you give a minimum 24-hour notice before your scheduled appointment.
– Any attempts to change your appointment within 24 hours of the reserved treatment will be considered a cancellation, and the cancellation policy will be applied.
– Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount.
– “No shows” and cancellations made less than 4 hours before the appointment will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount.
– If Massage Sense needs to cancel your reservation, you have the option to rebook with another therapist or accept a free cancellation.
Reminder Email:
Massage Sense will send you a courtesy email reminder about your reserved appointment around 48 hours in advance.
It is important to note that if we are unable to reach you, it remains your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times to avoid late arrivals, missed appointments, and the associated cancellation fee.
To select a specific therapist at Massage Sense, you have a couple of options:
- Visit our Team page and click on “Meet Therapist”: By visiting our Team page, you can browse through our therapists and get to know them better. When you find a therapist you prefer, click on their profile to access a link that allows you to book directly with them.
- Refer to the “How to Book an appointment at Massage Sense” topic: In the previously mentioned topic, you will find another option for selecting a specific therapist.
Please keep the following points in mind:
– If you book a Couples massage, only one therapist can be selected. The other will be automatically assigned by our system.
– If you have already chosen a specific therapist for your appointment, but unforeseen circumstances prevent them from being available, we will notify you in advance and do our best to arrange a suitable replacement.
– If you did not select a specific therapist beforehand, we may reassign the appointment without prior notice.
We value your preferences and will strive to accommodate your choice of therapist to the best of our ability.
In general, it is recommended to select your preferred therapist when booking your appointment at Massage Sense. However, if you have already booked an appointment and wish to change your therapist, it may be possible depending on the circumstances.
Here are a few important points to consider:
- Individual schedules and availabilities: Each therapist at Massage Sense has their own schedule and availability. If a therapist was not available for booking online, it means they are not available at all during that time.
- Therapist’s qualifications: It’s important to note that a therapist who is not trained for a specific appointment (such as Hot Stone, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, etc) will never be allowed to perform that treatment, therefor their name will not appear as an available option. This is done to ensure the highest standards of expertise and safety for our clients.
- When booking a Couples Massage, you will only be able to select one Therapist. The other will be automatically assigned by our system.
While efforts will be made to accommodate your request, please understand that availability and therapist qualifications play a role in the final decision.
When you book an appointment with us, our system automatically assigns a qualified therapist and room based on your selected appointment.
If you would like to change your appointment to a sports massage or de-stress massage, we are more than happy to accommodate your request. All of our therapists are qualified to perform both types of massages, so you can easily switch between them based on your preferences.
Please note that certain treatments, such as hot stone massage, acupuncture, aromatherapy, body scrub massage, foot massage, or manual lymphatic drainage, may have specific requirements or specialized therapists.
It may not always be possible to switch to these treatments on the spot, as they may require additional preparation or equipment.
Can I change the duration of my appointment when I arrive at the practice?
When you make a booking for a specific length of time, we allocate the therapist’s time and reserve a room accordingly.
If you decide to downgrade to a shorter duration, it will be considered a cancellation because we have already reserved the time for your original booking. In such cases, you will be required to pay for the originally reserved length.
However, if you wish to upgrade your session to a longer appointment, please inform the therapist upon your arrival. They will check the schedule to see if they and the room are available for the requested time without disrupting other clients’ bookings.
Yes, you can use your own details and name to book an appointment for someone else. During the booking process, you can leave us a note indicating that the appointment is for someone else.
Please note that some of our appointments, such as the Body Scrub massage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage, are exclusively for women. If the appointment is for a specific gender, please mention it in the note.
Using your own email address during the booking process is a great way to keep the appointment as a surprise. Additionally, if you have a Loyalty package, you can use the details from that package and offer the session to your partner or friend. Just make sure to leave us a note informing us about the arrangement.
If the person you are booking for is a new client, they will be asked to fill out an intake form at our practice.
We allow bookings to be made up to 2 months in advance through our online booking system. This timeframe ensures that you can plan and secure your preferred appointment slot without the need for rescheduling or cancellations.
As our therapists are freelancers and may have their own schedules and availability, limiting the booking window to 2 months helps us maintain a reliable and efficient booking system. It also allows us to provide you with the best possible service and minimize the chances of any scheduling conflicts or disappointments.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in planning your appointments within the available booking timeframe. Should you have any specific questions or concerns regarding future bookings, please feel free to reach out to us.
While we strive to accommodate our clients’ scheduling needs, booking an appointment for the same day may not always be possible through our online booking system.
However, we understand that there may be situations where you have a last-minute availability or urgent need for a massage. In such cases, we recommend contacting us via WhatsApp to inquire about any available openings. If a therapist is available and at the practice, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
We highly recommend booking your appointments in advance through our online system to secure your preferred date and time.
Please note that availability may vary from day to day, and some days may have more or fewer therapists available. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in planning your appointments in advance.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can sometimes cause delays. If you anticipate being just 5 minutes late, there is no need to take any action.
However, if you expect a significant delay, we kindly ask that you inform us by sending an email or WhatsApp message to +31648066574 and let us know about the situation.
Please note that our therapists will wait for up to 30 minutes past your scheduled appointment time. If we have not heard from you by that point, the therapist may leave the practice and mark your appointment as a no-show. We always strive to utilize the remaining time in your favor, but we cannot guarantee a full session if there are subsequent appointments scheduled.
It’s important to be aware that if your delay results in a shortened session, you will still be charged for the originally booked session duration.
Conversely, if the delay is caused by us, we will take the necessary steps to ensure that you receive your full session, and appropriate adjustments will be made, such as reducing the session fee or providing a refund if necessary.
When you start the booking process, you will have the option to check the availability of our therapists for your selected massage. You can visit our Team page to see the current roster of therapists, and we make sure to keep this information updated regularly.
- When booking a Couples Massage, you will only be able to select one Therapist. The other will be automatically assigned by our system.
Please note that each therapist has a specific schedule and training, which may limit the possibility of changing your therapist after the booking is made.
We strive to accommodate your preferences and customize your massage experience to suit your needs. However, it’s important to note that each therapist has different training and background, and our approach is focused on general relaxation and well-being rather than providing medical treatments.
During your session, we can usually focus more on a specific area if desired. However, please note that our 45-minute De-Stress Express session only covers the back, neck, and shoulders, and is not customizable in terms of areas of focus.
If you have any specific requests or areas you would like us to address during your massage, please communicate this to your therapist before or at the beginning of the session, and they will do their best to accommodate your preferences within the scope of their training and expertise.
You don’t need to bring anything with you to your appointment as we provide all the necessary items, including oils and towels. However, if you have a gift card or discount voucher, please remember to bring it with you so that our therapists can redeem it after your session.
Our couples massage involves two people having appointments at the same time and being together in the same room. The room is equipped with a door that can be closed if desired.
The couples massage typically offers either a sports or de-stress massage, or a combination of both, depending on the individuals’ needs. It is important to note that our couples massage follows our standard appointment pricing and does not include any additional extras such as hot stone or aromatherapy.
While the term “couples massage” is commonly used, it is not limited to romantic couples.
This appointment option is also popular among friends and family members who wish to have their massages simultaneously.
If you prefer separate rooms, simply inform the therapists upon your arrival, and they will accommodate your request.
Yes, it is possible.
We offer a designated type of appointment for couples with pregnancy, which can be found on our Couples Massage page.
When booking, please make sure to select the Couples/Pregnancy option. This ensures that a qualified therapist is assigned to you and our pregnancy pillow is reserved for your comfort.
It’s important to note that the maximum duration for a couples massage with pregnancy is 75 minutes. We have set this limit to ensure your session remains pleasant and comfortable throughout.
If you did not receive an email confirmation after booking your appointment, there are a couple of possible reasons.
First, please check if your email address was entered correctly in both email fields during the booking process. If there was a mismatch, the system might not have been able to send you the confirmation email. If you are certain that you completed the booking, please send us an email with the details of your booking, and we will correct your email address and send you a confirmation.
Alternatively, the second possibility is that you attempted to book a Fixed appointment but did not complete the payment process. In this case, the appointment will remain “stuck” in our system for approximately 15 minutes, as we wait for the payment to be made and ensure that your slot is reserved.
However, if the payment is not completed, the appointment will automatically disappear, and no reservation will be made.
If your desired time/date is no longer available and you did not complete the payment, simply wait for about 15 minutes and refresh the page. The available time slot will then be displayed again.
Please note that it is important to ensure the accuracy of your email address and complete the payment process (on Fixed bookings) to receive a confirmation for your appointment.
If you encountered this issue while making a Fixed booking, it is likely that our system assumes you are still in the payment process and holds your preselected time slot for approximately 15-20 minutes. In this situation, please wait for this period of time and then refresh the page. The time slot should become available again for you to book.
Please note that this issue occurs specifically with Fixed bookings, and waiting for the designated time period and refreshing the page should allow you to proceed with the booking of your preferred time slot.
If you are unable to find an available slot on your desired day or time, or with your preferred therapist, it is possible that the therapists’ schedules are already fully booked or that a specific therapist is on vacation. Each therapist has their own schedule, and not all therapists may be available for all types of sessions. In such cases, we recommend considering alternative options, or add yourself on the Waiting list, by clicking on “Put me to the Waiting List”.
If you add yourself to the waiting list, and a slot becomes available, you will receive an email informing you about this. Please note that everyone on the waiting list will receive the same email, and you need to go again to our booking system, in oder to book the appointment and secure your slot.
Alternatively you can try selecting another therapist from the available options or explore different types of appointments that might have more availability.
While walk-in and last-minute appointments are possible, we cannot guarantee the availability of our therapists. Since we operate on an appointment-only basis and do not have a receptionist, there may not be someone available to assist you with a booking if you visit our practice without an appointment. The same applies to last-minute appointment requests, as our therapists may not be immediately available at the practice.
To ensure you secure your preferred time slot, we highly recommend booking your appointments in advance through our online system. This way, you can select your desired time and therapist, providing you with a seamless and convenient booking experience.
cancellations / rescheduling and refunds
When a reservation is made, we block a room and a therapist and allocate the necessary time, which prevents other bookings from occurring.
Therefore, your appointment is important to us and is reserved especially for you. We understand that there are many things that can come up in people’s day-to-day lives. However, when a client cancels without giving enough notice, it not only affects our therapists but also prevents another client from being seen.
In fairness to all clients as well as our therapists, this policy is in effect regardless of the reason for the cancellation.
Cancellation Policy:
- Fixed Appointments: Fixed appointments cannot be rescheduled or canceled therefor are Non-refundable.
- – If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please consider sending someone else on your behalf.
- – Please note that the link provided in our “Confirmation” and “Reminder” emails do not work for Fixed appointments.
- Flexible Appointments: With flexible appointments, you have the option to reschedule or cancel your appointment, subject to our cancellation policy.
- – Minimum Notice Period: For flexible appointments, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice prior to your scheduled appointment time to avoid any charges or penalties. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to our cancellation policy.
Cancellation Charges:
- – Changing your appointment less than 24 hours of your reserved treatment will be considered a cancellation, and our cancellation policy will be applied.
- – Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount.

Cancelling a Flexible Appointment:
- – Cancellations more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment can be done online using the cancellation link provided in the confirmation and reminder emails for flexible appointments. (Check your email inbox to locate our email, and scroll down until almost the end)
- – For cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, please contact us via email or WhatsApp, including the booking details.
- – Please note that last-minute cancellations via email will be considered invalid, and the client will be charged the full amount of the reserved service.
We highly value your cooperation and understanding of our cancellation policy. By adhering to these guidelines, you allow us to effectively manage our schedule and accommodate other clients.

Pick up the Gift Certificate at our practice:

If you have a Massage Sense gift card and would like to book an appointment using it, follow these steps:
- Choose the massage, special combo deal, or workshop you would like to book by clicking on it.
- Select between Fixed and Flexible options and choose the desired length. Please note that Workshops/Classes and Special Combo Deals are only available in Fixed durations.
- On the calendar, you will see all the available time slots for the specific appointment. You can either leave it as “All available time slots” for a wider range of options or click to select a specific therapist. For Couples massages, you can only choose one therapist, and the other will be assigned automatically based on availability.
- After selecting the day, time, and therapist, you will be asked to provide your personal details and accept the terms and conditions. Make sure that your email address is the same in both fields to receive the confirmation email.
- Click “Continue” to proceed with the booking process.
- If you have a gift card, you can redeem it by clicking on “Use coupon or Gift Card” in the top right corner. Enter your gift card code and continue.
- If the balance on your gift card is sufficient to cover the appointment cost, no further payment will be required. However, if the balance is insufficient, you can choose to pay the remaining amount online during the booking process (applicable for Fixed appointments) or make the payment at our practice later.
- Complete the booking process by accepting the terms and conditions again and clicking “Continue.”

- First-Time Visit: When you visit us for the first time, you will receive a 10 Euro discount voucher to be used on your next visit, as a token of our appreciation.
- Referral Program: Our referral program rewards both the referrer and the new client. If a new client is referred by an existing client and presents a filled referral card, both parties receive a 20% discount. Please refer to our Referral Program page for more information.
- Loyalty Packages: We offer loyalty packages that provide access to discounted price sessions. These packages are designed to offer great value for multiple sessions.
- Special Combo Deals: We have special combo deals, which consist of a combination of a longer massage, usually a foot massage, along with a 60 or 90-minute session. These combo deals are priced lower compared to booking each session separately. They are considered fixed appointments, must be prepaid, and no additional discounts are applied.

ACCOUNT LOGIN & PASSWORD
If you have forgotten your password, you can easily reset it by following these steps:
- Visit our booking system login page (just proceed as if you were booking any appointment).
- Click on the “Forgot my password” option.

OTHER FAQ'S
We welcome minors and children to have a massage at Massage Sense when accompanied by an adult. It is not uncommon for parents to book a couples massage and include one of their children in the session.
Regardless of the age of the child, the pricing remains the same as for adults.
Typically, children aged 7 and above can enjoy a soft and relaxing massage. However, it’s important to ensure that they can maintain a quiet and calm demeanor during the session to ensure a peaceful and restful experience for all clients.
If you plan to bring your child for a massage, please inform us in advance by leaving a note during the booking process.
While we provide all the necessary towels and oils for your massage session, you are welcome to bring your own if you have specific fabric allergies or sensitivities, or if you have a general allergy to detergents.
However, please note that we do not offer discounts for clients who choose to bring their own towels or oils. Our pricing remains the same regardless of whether you use our provided supplies or your own.
