Foot Massage
A Foot Massage may be just what your feet need at the end of a long day.
This Asian Inspired Foot Massage is a deeply relaxing treatment that leaves you feeling as if you are walking on air!
The wholesome and energetic approach of our Asian Inspired Foot massage routine addresses the entire body, creating freedom and renewed energy in the legs, feet, back & shoulders. The overall balancing and recharging effects of this massage are quite remarkable!
The first step in making you feel relaxed and tension free while restoring your body health is soaking your feet in a tub of hot water, mixed with essential oils. Peaceful music soothes you while you soak your feet.
Gently, the therapist begins to relax you by massaging your head, scalp, neck and upper shoulders, paying particular attention to key pressure points. This soothing treatment encourages a feeling of warmth and inner calm.
Once your body is relaxed, your feet are dried and you settle back into our chair. Warm, clean towels surround you, as the therapist sits before you and begins to knead your feet and calves. At once, you are enveloped by music, tranquility and pleasure.
The therapist will begin by gently massaging the feet. She will then work around the feet pressing on specific pressure points.
These points are linked to the organs and structures of the body and pressure on them can gently ease tension and dysfunction in other areas of the body.
Not only do your feet feel refreshed but as you tune into your body you will discover that every part of your body feels a sense of relief as well.
As we walk, run or stand we are constantly putting pressure on all areas of the foot. A foot massage works by warming and stretching the muscles in the foot to reduce any inflammation around the delicate joints in the foot.
Chinese medicine believes that the feet are the foundation of human life energy. The feet, like hands and ears, contain projections of all vital organs, resulting in functional changes of any of them are reflected immediately on the feet.
Foot massage improves lymph and blood circulation, prevents swelling and varicose of veins. It is very useful for insomnia, anxiety, irritation, and other minor nervous disorders.
It prevents cramps in the calves, relieves feeling of heaviness in the legs and muscle fatigue (after exercise).
Foot massage has a positive effect on the hip joints, relaxes them, enhancing the sensation of walking. It also improves blood circulation to the toes. It strengthens the muscles and ligaments of the feet.
If you have foot ulcers, recent injury, foot or ankle wounds, gout, or a cardiovascular condition, Foot Massage may not be appropriate or safe.
Avoid Foot Massage if you have infectious diseases of the skin, fungal skin, lesions and osteoporosis. It may also not be right for people with diabetes, osteoarthritis (affecting the ankle or foot), circulatory problems, active infections, gallstones, kidney stones, or certain types of cancer.
Pregnant women should avoid foot reflexology. We offer specialized Pregnancy Massage instead.
If you plan to have regular Massage sessions at Massage Sense, we developed several discounted packages that will certainly meet your needs.
